The property known as Remainder of Erf 1627, Sedgefield is situated on The Island in the coastal town of Sedgefield, within the Knysna Local Municipality, Western Cape. The site is located immediately west of the Sedgefield central area, bordered by the Swartvlei Estuary system to the north and surrounded by a mosaic of residential and natural areas. The site falls within proximity to the Swartvlei, Hoekraal River, and Myoli Beach, with the Protected Natural Dune Fynbos area lying to the south.

The site is located in Keurboomstrand, a resort town near Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape, under the jurisdiction of the Bitou Municipality.

It should be noted that the proposed development encompasses two interrelated components. The first involves the expansion of the existing Kinetic Catamarans manufacturing facility, while the second entails the upgrade of the South African Sea Cadet Corps – TS Knysna facilities located on the adjoining property. Both components are being assessed collectively under a single Basic Assessment process and are hereafter referred to jointly as “the development area.”

The property is zoned Agricultural I. Wilderness Fruit (Pty) Ltd is applying for an additional 11 hectares of cultivated land to practise their existing rights to plant Macadamia and Avocado Trees on Erf 385, Hoekwil. Historically, the agricultural lands have been utilised for farming practises; however, the project area of interest (PAOI) is currently heavily infested with alien invasive plants (AIPs). The site can be located at GPS coordinates 33º 57′ 13.87″ 22º 35′ 18.01″.

Location and Activity:
The Part 2 Amendment is for the Athina Estate development on Portion 66 and 67 of the Farm Brakkloof 443 in the Bitou Municipality, Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape. The Environmental Authorisation was issued on 31 July 2024 which approved the development of 9 residential stands with associated infrastructure and communal open space. A Part 1 Amendment was approved on 14 June 2024 for amendments to the SDP which included the realignment of the internal road and minor realignment of the five beachfront erven. The new proposed changes to the SDP are as follows:

Project Proposal: The preferred alternative entails the development of facilities intended to accommodate assisted camping for the Lovemore family.

Portion 12 of the Farm Ongegunde Vryheid No 746 (approximately 46.21 ha in extent) is located in Cape St Francis Bay in the Kouga Local Municipality, Eastern Cape.

Portion 76 of the Farm 216 is situated within 1.5 km from Brenton on Sea Residential Area, Knysna Western Cape and the Southern boundary boarders the Brenton Beach. The property is 21.01 hectares in extent.

The entire property is classed as Critical Biodiversity Area (CBA) which is defined as areas in a natural condition that are required to meet biodiversity targets, for species, ecosystems or ecological processes and infrastructure.
